Japanese legend has it that if you fold a thousand paper cranes, you will be granted a single wish…

This is the third senbazuru, out of four, that I’ve ever folded, given as a birthday present to a dear friend. All the cranes are strung together on sewing thread (felt quite violent, piercing each bird through the back with a needle) and I loved the effect of the finished product, all colourful and dense and spiky.
